Have you really never seen the ocean?  |

 Since I live in a country where you can never be more than 60 miles from the sea, I have often seen it and love it. It occurred to me that many people here live a very long way from the ocean and may never have seen it.
If you have never seen the ocean, is it something you would love to do one day or are you quite content never to see it? Some people I have talked with have even said that they would be afraid to see the sea!

5.  sbeauty (4439) | 3 years ago |  I've seen them, but I never get to see enough. I live in Iowa which is in the middle of the US. A lot of people who live here have never been to either coast. I like the Pacific coast best, because it isn't all built up and commercialized like the east coast is.

It's a large mass of something that can kill you, filled with things that want to eat you. My husband thinks I am nuts, he so wants to go see an ocean some time in our lives. I keep telling him to take the girls and go. Just be sure to send me a post card, LOL.

| getnbuy (1020) | 3 years ago |  YOu are missing out on a lot. YOu don't have to go IN the water. You can just sit and watch the waves. Or, you can beach comb and find shells, and polished rocks. The most beautiful ocean I have ever seen is in Hawaii. I know a lot of people scuba dive and boogy board, but it is very soothing to just sit and take in the beauty and hear the crash of the waves.Don't go to Honolulu, though. It is too commercial. Another beautiful place is the Oregon coast. There is a beach there called Agate Beach where you can just pick up agates on the sand. There are sea lion caves, too.

My husband and I love the ocean and vacation on the Oregon coast often. There is an old family joke about one of my uncles. He came from Idaho to California and when he gazed as far as he could see, to the horizon he said cynically,"I thought it would be bigger"! Well, at least it was a joke in my family. | 8. ukchriss (1700) | 3 years ago |  Where I live in Norfolk UK, at the back of my house is a small tidal river, Just over the road is the docks and 10 miles down the road is the beach. So I am very close to the sea.
I go to the beach nearly every week so i think i'm fairly lucky.
