I have never had a problem with this , this was something that my mother was more strict on and I could never understand the reason .
They now make make-up designed for little kids and my daughter all loved to play dress up and pretend to be a mommy and I always thought and still think it is cute .
What are your opinions ?

13 could be a good start. Show her how to put in on to look natural. In fact, schedule a makeover at a fancy department store. It will be a fun outing and teach her how to apply it correctly.

My mother told me that when I turned 13 I could wear make-up. I didn't have much on the lines of make-up other than some blue eye-shadow and red lipstick that my aunt had given me. On my 13th birthday I came prancing out of my bedroom looking somewhat like a clown. My mother yelled at me and made me remove the make-up. I questioned why she made me do it and told her that she said I could start wearing it when I turned 13. It was then that she changed her mind about my wearing it.
I feel that 13 is a good age for a young girl to wear make-up. Mascara, a little light blush, and a light colored lip gloss should be efficient. If she insists on eye-shadow, buy one that compliments her skin tone that is not bright in color.

i think the age of 14 is the right age for a young lady to wear makeup.you dont want your daughters looking older than they are.an this makeup for kids i think is crazy they are trying to make 10yrs look like 20yrs old. an i think moms needs to protect their daughters an not let them wear makeup till they are 14 or older

I don't feel that if they are wearing it around the house it will harm anything but I appreciate how you feel . Thank you for your response .

My daughter is 12 and she only wears a little lipstick at a party but nothing else. I think it's cute and you can teach your daughter to be moderate in using the make-up.

I think they should be allowed to wear make-up when they show interest in it..its not like it can hurt them or any thing like that.. if I ever have a kid and it is a girl I will let her choose when she wants to wear make-up or not..

My oldest daughter is 12 and she has started wearing make up to school this year. She only wears it in moderation, so I have no problems with it. My youngest daughter is 7 and she wears make up as well when playing dress up. It doesn't bother me at all, of course, the youngest is not allowed to wear it out of the house :)
