A Wonderful Tribute to a Good Friend...this is very touching

I just watched a program on tv that talked about a state on the coast (I missed which state it is) where some people who had lost their beloved pets and had them cremated, could incorporate the ashes of their loved one into a concrete mold, personalized with their hand prints before the concrete was dry, and the molded pieces were being used as an artificial reef off the coast to give sea life a place to live and breed. I think this is a very touching memorial to their pets...they will know that their beloved friends will always be helping sea life. What do you think about this?

It sounds like some entrepreneur has found a way to suck more money out of people who are sappy over pets.

no, they didn't have to pay for it, the state was making the artificial reef, and the pet owners came up with the idea of adding a more personal touch to it.

We had a dog cremated a couple of years ago but I have never heard of putting their ashes into a concrete mold before. That sure is different and if it helps sea life then all the better.

I think that was cool but I also think they could have just used the money they spent on all that to donate to the animal shelter to me that would get more use than the sea life. But it was definetly a different concept.

it is different, this place was making the artificial reef anyway, because of the need for it, and they allowed these people to do that...i thought it was a nice touch,...thanks
