I have a mini schnauzer and he is a picky eater. We usually have to kinda bounce around on what we give him. He does like right now Mighty Dog. We also mix it with what ever we are having at the time when we are eating as then he thinks he is getting what we are. So many dog food on the market are good. They all are very controled on what they are made with. So we feel it is what ever your dog learns to like. We do stay away from the real off brands that are out there and haven't heard anything about them.

I have 2 Rottwielers, 1 lab and 1 Golden Retriever/ Great Pyrenees. I feed Nutro Max Lamb and Rice Large Breed. It is supposed to be the highest quality feed. We feed the Lamb and Rice because one of our Rotts has skin allergies, and because our lab will eat nothing except lamb. When we fed less quality food (Iams) we had to give vitamins for their coat, and medication for our Rotts allergies, since we have changed to Nutro Max we have not had to supplement their food. The lab also gets green beans, as a lab he thinks he's always hungry, so the green beans fill him up without putting extra weight on him, besides he thinks it's a treat.

a breeder told me that lampro is the best for dogs that are hairy while pedigree alpo those kind of brands are good to dogs that are not hairy.. they say that lampro is good because it helps maintain the hair of the dog... i am not quite sure thought what is lampro never seen that brand before.

dog food choice depends on the needs of your dogs and i believe each breed has specific needs as well as restrictions. some dogs are allergic to chicken like the dalmatians so you have to watch out for that. some dogs may also be prone to kidney stones so a low-protein diet is required. the labels may not be helpful at time so you may have to check on your dog's reactions after eating a bowl or two
