Tony Blair has made his intentions clear to leave his job as British prime minister before the next general election, who do you think should take his place?

Well as I see it we need an antidote to Corporate Power and money influence in politics in general. We need someone who understands and is known to the peoples of Israel, Palestine, Iraq and Iran as a man without fear or favour. But we also need someone to put the Labour Party back together and restore some semblance of traditional Labour values. So for the first part I nominate George Galloway, and for the second, I nominate Clare Short. I wouldn't entrust International affairs to Claire short so It'll have to be George for me. There's not another politician free of Corporate influence within miles. It starts when they are getting educated! It's just a form of insiders club, like Freemasonry but more powerful, more dangerous by far.

very very interesting choice, but i do wonder if george did his image too much damage recently. I agree we need some traditional labour values but fear the tories and i see no natural successor, i honestly feel we should groom a new leader now and talk tony in to staying for five more years but i doubt he would. I see the tories on the horizon and it scares me more than Brown

i certainly agree they have covered their own backs well, it is as though if 9/11 hadnt happened Bush would have had to orchestrate it to get a lot of the protective legislation through, best of luck to you

I would have Blair and Bush on trial for war crimes. I would also spend a fortune investigating the link between depleted uranium and the countless horrendous unexplained deaths and injuries that occur everywhere depleted uranium weapons have been used. This is an issue that is yet to break, due to repeated US government failure to set up a proper stabdard of testing and arrange independent testing of returning soldiiers. All testing so far has been shown to be inacurate and unreliable. With one third of all veterans returned from Gulf war 1 still on dissability and a similar figure is accruing for the current actions in Afghanistan and Iraq. Palestine and Lebanon are also affected. Bush and Blair have passed laws to protect themselves retroactively from charges accruing relating to war crimes, and that is against all humanitarian principals and against any right thinking morality. In short it is an act of blatant criminal cowardice on the parts of Blair and Bush! I deplore the way the people have allowed this travesty of justice.

I have no idea sir... coz as far as i know is, Tony Blair are one of a Best Prime minister in London. I wish that if they have someone who want the position of Mr. Blair are be more than him. Because as prime minister are not easy you and you always think the cordiality of your country and your people not for your self.

i agree it will take a lot of clearing up. In my view tony blair had ten years and didnt manage to clean up the mess the thatcher-major axis left us in, i just fear its return if we dont get this hand over right

I am not really very interested in politics, although I will be glad when Tony Blair does leave, I think he has made the UK one of the most hated countries in the world, who ever takes over won't be much different, in my opinion they are all puppets and never live up to their promises. :)

in many ways i agree with you. I think Blair had an extremely hard job to do in 1997 when he removed the tory despots, but after 10 years I expected so much more, I just hope we get it right first time. I also agree who ever takes over will be the pupet of who ever becomes the next American president and much policy will be determined by their agenda rather than their own, blessed be and thank you for your answer

I guess Gordon Brown will replace him, as it is pretty much evident by now. Why not? He had been waiting for long, and had been immensely popular among the people for a time. It was not proper to make him wait this long and lose his prime in anticipation of the role. Better late than never. He has got the ability and charisma to lead the nation, and I hope he won't be interested in playing second fiddle to anyone anymore.

your answer makes a lot of sense to me. Whereas the rest of the answers are seeking quite abrupt and radical change, i think Brown is the option of continuity and would in my opinion make a good prime minister. However, I wonder after ten years if the country is not now looking for a change, or if it is just those who want such a change who are shouting the loudest? good luck blessed be

To be honest, they're all as bad as each other, and I've totally lost interest, being a UK citizen myself I have given up with the British Political system, Labour is pulling this country apart and without stepping onto my soap box and ranting about how this country is suffering at the hands of Labour, I don't think the Conservatives or Liberals can do any better. Same with any country, you take out the leader, and its like a hydra, chop off its head and another one will grow in its place. Someone who could vastly improve the justice system and make stronger deterrants. Sort out the immigrant crisis, the overpopulation, better NHS and withdraw all our men from Iraq, now if a politician could promise and deliver all that then I would want him or her in, but they probably don't exist and I should take my rose coloured glasses off, mind you I think I lost them when Labour took power all those years ago!

hahaha ok, im still wearing mine, i remember just how terrible the Thatcher-Major axis was and have yet to see anything to say this lot of light pink tories are anything worse. However because of the centre right consensus that has been proporgated in British politics, i think you really are living in some kind of political wish philosophy but we can but hope and keep faith. keep on keeping on blessed be
