Guys, does your wife drive? |
| |
| Does your wife drive or are you just the 'taxi' driver? My wife does not drive and although I worship her I do find it a bit of a chore having to take her into town just to get a couple of odds and ends. I end up sitting in the car listening to the radio which I suppose is not a bad thing. I am relaxing. But sometimes it is frustrating when there are other things to do, (Do I sound if I'm complaining ....... No!) But when she had the opportunity to learn to drive back in the 50's although she had a few driving lessons she never did make up her mind to go for her test. She has just asked me to run her in town as its snowing (not like in Canada I'm glad to say) and although we have an electric bike she can't go out on that. Anyway, must do as I'm told. | | | | | |

| | I suppose your Mom thinks that if I've got it I might use it some day so why not have it if its there! I guess shes got it made getting a lift into town whenever she wants it but how does she get home....?!! As for your little picture of 'Driving miss Daisy' I thought that film was great and I have a sister named Daisy and all through the film I was saying to myself "I can imagine my Daisy doing that"! Thanks for your post. | | | |

| | Well you got me going there for a while Cloud! When you said 'bike' I thought you meant a pedal bike'! Wow a Speed Twin! I had one of those back in the '50s and would have thought they were rather heavy for a young lady to drive. But good on yer! I had many bikes amongst them a Vincent Comet a great machine. Did you see many of those where you are? It would be lovely to sit back and let my wife drive but I'm afraid that would mean when we arrived home I would have to cook the dinner!LOL. | | | |

| | Thanks for the compliment and thanks for the best response. I won't be able to spend much time here for a while, so it might help keep my rating up while I'm not posting. I haven't seen much activity from you. I do trust you are OK. | | | |

| | I am the wife and I have been driving for 16 years now. Does your wife just not want to drive? I think it would be too much of a chore for you to have to do that constantly. But it is very sweet that you do it for her | | | | | | |

| | No my wife has no interest in driving, in fact and she will agree with me here, she has no sense of direction at all. We go shopping in the city and she will come out of one shop and go straight into one she has already been in! But I love her and although I complain she will never have to walk unless she needs to, as far as I'm concerned. | | | |

| | My husband don't drive. He had a number of times tried going for his licence and failed. I'm along with my son are the only drivers. I'm busy taking my husband up to the farm two days a week and my daughter to school which is about a half hour drive. | | | | | | |

| | Hi Sharon I suppose the driving test is quite hard in your country thats why your husband has not made it. I believe it is getting that way here and the authorities are trying to get at the young as they have the greatest accident rate. Thanks for posting. | | | |

| | I don't have a wife yet hehe. My mom doesn't drive but my aunt does. Her husband works abroad so she is left herself to brave the streets to send the kids to school and fetch them. So far she's been good, though slow. | | | | | | |

| | In the US all women drive unless they have a disability. What is your wife's reason for not driving? She needs to learn to drive and be independant. I think you should provide the car for her and pay for driving lessons and get her on the road! | | | | | | |

| | Well getnbuy I guess for a start she's to old at 70, secondly she has not the least idea of knowing where she is, she would get lost and thirdly most important, I cannot afford the lessons!LOL Have a good day. | | | |

| | Not all women in the US drive. My mom doesn't drive or does she know how to. And she doesn't have a disability except for her nerves are shot. I don't think you should force someone to do something that she/he doesn't want to do. It would be nice if she could, we wouldn't have to go get her when she wants to come stay with us for awhile. She would be able to go to her own doctor's appts. | | | |

| | Hi Chertsy I feel sure that If I couldn't drive anytime my son would be willing to transport me and I have had friends take me for my hospital appointments. I have never asked my wife to learn to drive it was up to her. Thanks for posting. | | | |

| | Sometimes I wish I didn't drive - then I wouldn't always be expected to be the one that does the driving when we go out so that my "significant other" can have a drink! LOL! He uses the age-old excuse that we drive "on the wrong sde of the road" here in the UK! After 25 years living here I think he should have got used to it by now! But glad you always do what you are told:-)) | | | | | | |

| | Glad to see you Rosie. So your other half is a 'colonial'? Whoops....I bet I'll get it in the neck for that remark....!!LOL. But as you say 25 years is a long time. I think I agree with him too we should drive on the left wouldn't have so much trouble when we go abroad then. Thats my problem If I go out anywhere it only half of shandy then thats my limit! But I don't worry about drinking these days. Had my fill of that. As for doing as I was told, I think 'her who has to be obeyed' will agree with you! | | | |

| | Hi. Me and my husband both drive. I used to argue with him when we first got together as who was gonna drive and who wasn't LOL. "I wanted to do the driving especially since I was young and we had a nice vehicle and so did he." But now neither of us even discuss it and we both just share equally with the driving. I really don't think either one of now wish to drive places. It is a chore anymore. especially since we live in ten buck two and everything is miles away. | | | | | | |
