Kate Holmes Not Returning For Dark Knight

So, today it was announced that Kate Holmes will not return in The Dark Knight as Rachel Dawes. The part will be cast with someone else. She is not returning because of a scheduling conflict. She will be taping a movie, "Mad Money" with Queen Latifa at the same time.
Do you think she's making a mistake to pass up on this movie? Who do you think should be cast in the part instead of her?

i don't feel that katie holmes gave any impact playing the role of rachel in batman begins, aside from the part where her body curves were highlighted. her face is too soft to play the role of an attorney in the movie. so, i don't think it'll really be a loss if she's not seen reprising her role in the sequel.
the actress i want to see in batman, with christian bale wearing the mask is...KATE BECKINSALE.. whether as Rachel or (better) as Catwoman...

I definitely think the loss is Kate's. This movie will most likely out do "Begins" and she'll be on the outside wishing she was a part.
Beckinsale as Catwoman...I LIKE that. She'd do a better job than Halle or Michelle.

Is Rachel Knowles the number one woman in the heart of Bruce Wayne? I never know Batman has interest on other girls, I thought Catwoman is the only girl for him.

I'm not real sure where she fits into the whole story, but she's in the script for the sequel. We see from the first one that Bruce really likes her. And, if she's a childhood friend, then she would be important for the beginning of the storyline.

Bruce Wayne is supposed to be a millionaire playboy. Pull a James Bond with Batman. New film, new floozy.

I personally am relieved to see that she is not to be included in the sequel. I think they can really do better in the female lead.. even if she ends up being a side character. Kate tends to get annoying if you receive too much of her...
Already Dark Knight is looking like its heading in the proper direction!
