When is it time to look for a new job |
|
Ok guys I need some advice... I have been on this job for about six months now and already been promoted once. Customer service has never really been my thing though I am halfway decent at it, but this is starting to get ridiculous. I mean I have tough skin and everything but sometimes I just don't think that the pay is worth the stress and headache that it causes. Been so stressed out lately that I get sick from time to time. And I won't even go into the names that I get called and the way that these people talk to me and threaten me. (Unlike some jobs, cant hang up on people at this one even when the caller is totally out of order)Unfortunately call center seems to be all this area has to offer. So what do you guys think?

I didn't work in a call center, but face-to -face with them. So, I decided to find a job that I liked. Since it isn't your thing, then go job hunt and find a job that you really enjoy. Good luck.

If not, you can always look for another job. You should find something you enjoy doing. If customer service is not your thing, try something else. There are many opportunities for bright, hard working people. If you need help, check out these sites. http://www.givemebigmoney.com http://www.simplyhired.com http://www.indeed.com
Good Luck!

5. nibory (146) | 3 years ago | It surprises me whenever I hear someone say they don't like customer service but it is definitely not for everyone.
I LOVE customer service. Nothing makes me happier than to have an angry customer hang up with a smile on their face.
If there is nothing but call centers in your area, then I guess you could try to learn some good customer service techniques. Always smile before you pick up the phone. Be pleasant, no matter what. Don't let any "attitude" seep into your voice.
But if you have a choice, you should look for something else. It really isn't for everybody. I have coworkers whose customers are always mad with them because they have to prove they are right. The customer is always right.
Good luck - I hope you have some choices, and if you don't, if you can learn to enjoy customer service, it is very rewarding.

| Lessi30 (14) | 3 years ago | Yeah there are some times when it is quite rewarding, I guess it is just lately that those times seem to be far and few in between, but you are right about it being rewarding some times. I will hang in there for now, but I am going to keep looking. Thanks so much for your advice.
