Reflexology, have you tried it?

Reflexology - You can perform reflexology anytime, anywhere, as long as you know where the appropriate reflex points are.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which works on the feet and hands to help heal the whole person not just the prevailing symptoms. Reflexology is the application of pressure, stretch and movement to the feet and hands to effect corresponding parts of the body. Reflexologists view the feet and hands as a mirror image of the body. By applying technique a reflexologist can break up patterns of stress in other parts of the body. Your hands and feet are reflex maps with certain areas corresponding to every body part. When pressure is applied to those specific areas, a signal is sent from the nervous system to increase circulation and muscular functions to the corresponding area. This reaction reduces stress on this part, and this allows for less wear and tear and more healing. The points you press on are called reflex points. There are reflex points for every part of your body on your hands and feet. No matter where your discomfort, there is a reflex point on your hands and feet where pressure can be applied to relieve the symptoms. The deeply relaxing nature of reflexology allows the body to release tension and stress that can build with everyday life. It is proven that stress can have a negative impact on our body's ability to function at optimal levels. Reducing this stress makes the body more balanced, and this allows for healing on mental, spiritual and physical levels. Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. I've had Reflexology now for about 7 years to help the circulation in my legs and to ease my backache. It works great for me. Have you tried it and does it work for you?

I would love to find a good reflexologist .. we don't seem to have one anywhere locally that doesn't cost a small fortune .. I even said I would be willing to let traineees lose on my feet if I could get a cheaper session ... The other thing I would love to have is an iridologist take a look at my eyes and see what he can find .. I keep trying to check the charts and my eyes but it isn't something you can easily do for yourself ..

LOL not to dissimiliar from my discussion about feet, so I'm with you here on this one, in that I've had reflexology and the reflexologist was able to tell me straight away from my feet that I had a thyroid problem! I had a problem with my feet because I do so much running and it was taking its toll on my feet, the reflexology sessions did the trick and I would recommend it to anyone who has problems with their feet or is thinking about alternative therapy, don't knock it. It truly is a fascinating science.

Smiles...I may have missed that one when I was away a couple of days, I will take a look. Yes I find it fascinating as well. I cant do my own feet but when my back aches i now know where to press on my hand to releave the pain. Hope your feet are ok? My dad has been having his feet done for years and loves it Thanks for your reply

I love reflexology. It is a very natural process and does indeed feel wonderful. I am wondering, however, why you have been treated for 7 years with this? There are several great books on the market that you can get (even used) that will show you how to treat yourself. I am a Reiki Practitioner, but I also can do reflexology and used to include it as part of my practice at one time. If a friend of yours is doing it for free - lucky you; but if you are spending a lot of money for sessions, please check out some online book sites. You can message me and I can give you the names of some good books ~Donna

Yes I have tried it. I am sick of multiple sclerosis, do not walk and am in wheelchair. Therefore I have circulation problems and the ankles and feet not are swelled, have done 10 treatments, then now one at the month. It is necessary to find who knows farlo well, I have tried 3, she is now an ex school's mate of mine, as the destiny is strange, we dont meet for ages, now comes my home and is good there.

Reflexology is very relaxing. I went on a couple of courses to learn how to do reflexology and they were really interesting. It's very hard on the hands though when you first start out giving treatments to people. The courses were really great though, we'd take it in turns to practice our reflexology routine on each other, so it was like getting a free reflexology treatment a week. I'd like to get back into it as I miss practicing it, and after feeling the benefits, it's definately something i'd pay for.

I'm an ARCB Certified Reflexologist. I've been in practice for seven years now. My friend and I exchange sessions weekly and we love it. It works!
