I have severe allergies to literaly everything, chemicals, plants and pollens, molds, drugs, even certain foods. I live in an area that has a really bad problem with molds. After it rains if I go outside my face has an allergic reaction to something in the air, not sure what but it tears my face up bad. Our whole family has allergies and a serious sensitivity to most all molds, but I have it to an extreame degree. We are now looking for an RV so we can just travel around the country, we have our own business and the RV life will fit our work nicely and it is something we have dreamed of doing for years now, and you never know, maybe one day we will find area where I don't have so much trouble with my allergies. I would like to know how many people there are on mylot that has allergies and what area of the country you live in. Anything you can share about your area and how your allergies react. I'm also currious as to how many people if any how allergies as severe as mine?

I have severe allergies and athma also. I have taken a variety of medication for htem. The meds only work for about 3 years then I have to switch again. I am allergic to polen, mold, dander, dust, smoke, MSG adn many cleaning supplies. Currently, I am taking singular and nasonex for my allergies. I also keep moist air as the dry air makes it worse. It is so cold here that the air is becoming really dry so I have a teakettle on the stove all teh time to put moisture in the air. My symptoms very with each different allery trigger for example, smoke makes me cough uncontrolable, eyes water, weak and can not breath. Mold makes my sinus act up as well as sneezing and coughing.

I know what you mean about the dry air. I don't know if it is just me, but it seems that my sinuses are more packed when the air is so dry. You would think that the dry air would dry your sinus up, but when I am fighting with my sinuses, they just fill even more when the air is dry. Now if my sinuses are doing okay, then the dry air will dry them out real bad to the point that I get nose bleeds! I too have a problem with MSG which is really bad because there are so few food items anymore that do not have MSG in them. I get bad headaches from the stuff. My symptoms vary from allergen to allergen also. Mold is the worst for me, my reaction can be anything from a headache, to being very sick in bed for days. It just depends on how bad the mold was.

I am in Texas and allergies are bad here, too. I used to be worse than I am now. I used to have to take pills and everything all the time, but now I pretty much just suffer from it. Stuffy and headachy most of the time. My niece is horrible with allergies, too. I live in the Northern part of Texas right on the border of Oklahoma...if that helps any

That helps alot, as we have taled about texas as a winter spot and Northern Cali as a summer spot. I wondered how bad Texas was, just seemed to me it would be up there a bit. I am really wondering about New Mexico, I read that it is one of the cleanest states as far as air quality goes. Thanks so much for your post, it will be a great help in our journey.

i live in IL and i have seasonal allergies but there all year around. i never get rid of them. sometimes are worse than others. such as in the spring time when the pollen count is high. i take allergy medicine over the counter. it's the equate version of alavert. it's the same thing and it works pretty good. i also use flonase nasel spray. i dont have them as bad as you do. most of my family has allergies too. whatever you do don't go to Kansas. it sounds weird but i am highly allergic to the state. they have high pollen count and a lot of dust in the air. i hope you find a good place that doesnt affect your allergies as much.

LOL, I'm sorry but I laughed at the Kansas statement, I think because I instantly thought of the Wizard of Oz and the tornado and all the dustr swirling everywhere. Have you checked your home or work place for mold? I have a discussion going on mold, you may want to read what has been posted so far.

I have bad allergies as well. I'm allergic to most trees, grasses, weeds, pollen, and a bunch of other things as well (dogs, cats, horses, cows, dust mites, etc...) I live in Washington, and we have one of the worst pollen seasons around. There are so many plants and trees that grow in Washington that it really isn't a surprise for people to have allergies here. I usually sneeze a lot, my ears, throat, and eyes itch, and my eyes water really bad as well. These are the worst of my symptoms though and those only come around in the spring and early summer for me. I take Zyrtec year round and it helps my allergies for the most part, except when they are severe as I mentioned above. I am thinking about getting shots for them, but I'm not sure yet. I've heard conflicting opinions about the shots, so we'll see!

I live in Maine and I am allergic to pollen and mold among many other things. I was constantly bothered by allergies then a few years ago I started recieving allergy injections which have helped my allergies tremendously. I feel so much better and I rarely have to take any medicine for my allergies. Also, they have boosted my immune system so now I don't get sick even when all of my friends are sick! I would definitely recommend the shots for anyone with allergys.
