Which is your favorite dean koontz book? |

Mine is one door away from heaven. The characters in it just grabbed me the first time I read it. And from the corner of his eye I read it one all night sitting.. it was fabulous...

lvap0628 (582) | 2 years ago | wow! you must really be a fan! dean koontz is not very popular here in the philippines but somehow his novels appeal to me. it's like there's always the message that "no matter how dark everything is, if there is love you can find the light."

3. Withoutwings (4685) | 2 years ago | My favorites in order are "Odd Thomas", "The Taking", "Strangers" and "Mr Murder". I have read almost all of his books, I have maybe six to read before I've read them all.

armywifey (744) | 10 months ago | I just finished the third book in the "Odd Thomas" series. "Brother Odd" was just as good as the other two book. I just wonder if they are going to continue the series or make it a trilogy. The way the book ended it seemd like there would be another.

4. 1stWizard (3) | 2 years ago | My collection of Dean's books is somewhere in the neighborhood of 35, but I've read several more that I no longer own or didn't own in the first place. The one that grabbed me the most, coincidentally enough, was the first of his I read.. "Night Chills". Several of his books are memorable in their own rite, but Night Chills will keep you up at night. If you haven't read it, find it.

6. flowerchilde (5353) | 1 year ago | One door away from heaven - is this the one where he talks about things like the medical lottery (ethics question)? I love so many of his books, it really is hard to pick a favorite, some of his earlier books are great too.. Lightning, twilight eyes are two of my favorites of his older ones, along with the bad place.. so many.. I really like the frankenstein series (pretty new) and the odd thomas books, the third one now out in hardcover. But cheapie that I am, I'm waiting for the soft cover..in june? "brother odd" - where's he get all his ideas? especially some of his older books, are just so creative in the special twist and idea.. :))

imsilver (1146) | 1 year ago | Ummm.. nope.. and I'm so tired right now that I'm just not coming up with the name of the one about the lottery. One door away from heaven is about a physically challenged girl who is written so wonderfully you can't help but fall in love with her for her courage and view on life. She befriends a recovering alcoholic while being dragged on the road constantly by a completely drugged out psychotic mother and her husband who is a doctor along the lines of doctor kavorikian. I don't want to give away too much of the story for those who haven't read it but it's absolutely fabulous.

7. adnaporg (178) | 1 year ago | So far Watchers is the only one I've read but it rocketed up to one of my all-time favorite books. I cried through the last few chapters (and cried hard!)... definitely one I'll never forget and always hold dear:)

imsilver (1146) | 1 year ago | Yup, that's the one that did it for me to. I read that one and went on to pick up and read almost all of his books. If you like the ones that make you cry, you should read "From the corner of his eye", "Door to December", and the one I first talked about in my post "One door away from Heaven". They are all great books with really well written characters that you can't help but feel for.

adnaporg (178) | 1 year ago | Thank you for the recommendations! I think I actually have a couple of them upstairs waiting for me to read them. My problem with reading is that it hurts. It's weird... but I guess it has something to do with my migraines? So I read in spurts, and after I read Watchers I went through a long time when I couldn't read. By the time I could again I'd found a book that I'd wanted to read for such a long time and had been having a hard time getting my hands on (Carrie haha). I'll definitely get to those, though. I love the way he writes:)

9. Shaun72 (11086) | 1 year ago | It is hard for me to chhose with Dean Koontz. I just finished reading Odd Thomas. Which was a great book. I just hated the way it ended it was sad. I will have to look for these two books. I have never read One Door Away From heaven or From the Corner of his eye but they both sound like good books.

10. 1983tyler (439) | 1 year ago | It's so hard to say which one is my favorite. When I recommend his books to a new reader, I recommend "Lightning". If it is someone already familiar with his work, then I recommend the Odd Thomas series. But I really loved "One Door Away from Heaven". I collect his books, and have a bunch of his old ones, too. I love the way his books are so very optimistic. Have you read "Everyday's a Holiday" by his dog Trixie? It is funny and cute.
