Do you Blow Dry your Hair or let it Air Dry?

Once your hair has split the damage is done and will require cutting so protect it by keeping it supple and moisturised. Use a leave-in conditioner.

Blow drying the hair can damage it so always use a nozzell on your hairdryer concentrating on the hair shaft. If the damage has already been done a serum applied to split ends will help disguise them and can help protect the hair when applying direct heat such as from curling tongs or heated rollers. The only real solution is to cut the offending ends off.

I just trimmed off all my split ends and have started to air dry my hair since last April. So far I haven't gotten any split ends yet. Thanks for your info.

Me too. The blow dryer damaged my hair a lot, but I didn't realize it because that was my mother's way of taking care of my hair ever since I was little. I just recently started air drying my hair, trimmed about an inch of dead ends off my hair, and now my hair seems to be staying more healthy looking. No split ends yet.

And yes, I do get split ends even though I do not blow it dry. I have to keep it trimmed.

You are more then welcome, but it is true.

I used to blow dry my hair all the time and dealt with all the split ends with hairspray. Until, my mother-in-law had used this special brush on my nieces hair and never blowed dried it and her hair had not split ends at all. She did keep trimming the ends ever so many weeks and her hair was so healthy looking. So I finally trimmed all the split ends off and was determined to air dry my hair only using a comb. My hair is staying healthy looking now. There's something to it for sure.

You make a great point about it taking so much time to blow dry your hair. I had always thought it took longer to let my hair air dry. Since I've started air drying my hair, I'm not getting the split ends and it's usually fully dried by the time I get to where I'm going. Thanks for responding.

I too used to use a hair blower, but it was basically causing my hair to frizz, which then would tangle, and then split ends everywhere. I've never heard of someones hair falling out from the heat before. I'm glad I stopped blow drying it. I now let the air dry it and you know it really doesn't take as long to dry as I had expected it to. Thank you for responding
