perfumes and memories

Do you sometimes go somewhere and suddenly you smell perfume or just odour what brings memories to you. Tell me when it happened and what did you remember? I have many childhood memories - like how nice is smell when my grandmom heated her apartment with stove. But I always have strange feeling when i go to opera or to see play. Most of the ppl are using perfumes than and result is one big perfume cloud over our heads:)

not perfume but a bath oil my grandma used to let me use it was pine and it smelt so good and I cant find any thing now a days that has that good smell also ya may laugh at this but my father in law dipped snuff and I can smell him sometimes in my car riding with me

I too have great and pleasent memories of life,
When i was growing up in my village I used to live in a farm.
The natural fragrance of so many flowers still remind me the childhood memories as yet.
Whenever I smell these fragrance arround I go lost for a moment.

Yes natural fragrances are the best. And usually they apply to our childhood, when we were running through wood and flowers - I mean thise who lived in country.

The oldest smell memory i have is the smell of food at the kindergarten...every time i smell something similar i think of those days.
It's truethat every person has an unique odour, so that you can link that certain odour to a certain memory or person, or both...sometimes it's incredible the flashbacks you get.
