Nanny Cameras  

No I havent, and dont know anyone who has used this. However, I certainly understand their point. I mean, they want to know how the nanny treat their kids if they are not around. You know some nanny treat the kids nice and very good in front of the parents but as soon as the parents left, they treat the kid differently, maybe ignore them, shout at them, or maybe in extreme cases abuse your kids. However, not all nanny are like that, so I dont like to prejudge someone at the start. There really is nothing wrong in using a camera to monitor the nanny, because your intention is to protect your kids and make sure that your kids are safe, you dont want anything bad to happen to them etc. I myself, would not use this camera, first its just too much trouble, and second, I want to learn to trust people, I dont want to judge them or have a negative thinking about them before they even done anything wrong. I believe that whatever happens, it is all in God's plan. Well that is my opinion :)

Nanny cameras weren't available when my children were small. However, if I had small children now, I would surely use one, and I would also use one for a babysitter! I have seen too many instances of terrible abuse and suffering at the hands of innocent children to take any chances. They can show things other than physical abuse too. They can show if the sitter or nanny has friends over and neglects the child, if the sitter/nanny is doing drugs while at your house, if the sitter/nanny is stealing items from your home. They could be invaluable!

I have 5 children and have some very poor babysitters and a few that where mean. I would use a nanny cam to be sure my child is safe. before my experience's with the bad ones I would not but now I am a believer in them if you feel you need them. just my opinion

I haven't had to make the choice regarding whether or not to use a nanny cam (no kids around yet) but I would think that if I had doubts about the nanny to begin with, I wouldn't hire her. I can understand why people do it though and I would probably consider it myself, as people can put on an act and disguise who they really are! Too often you hear about people who seemed like a regular "Joe" and turned out to be sick in the head.

Yes, I would use a nanny camera if I had a nanny. I have never used one yet. I see no problem in using them. You just want to monitor your child to make sure they are safe and stay that way. I am always reading in the paper about this nanny or babysitter doing something harmful to a child. We are monitered by camera when we go in to banks, some grocery stores and other places on a daily bases. So I don't see monitoring a nanny would be any different. I do think if you are going to monitor a nanny. That the nanny should be told up front that they will have their work monitored through out the day.
