Do you know what reincarnation is, or do you believe in reincarnation? It is the belief that when one dies, that person is reborn in another body. It is the belief that one had lived before and will live again in another body after death. The bodies one passes in and out of need not be human. One may have been a rabbit in a past life, and one may be a mouse or a cucumber in a future life. Some people believe that the souls of their ancesters dwell in certain animals, and hence they avoid eating meat of those animals.
According to eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism, reincarnaion is not a good thing. They believe that in order to achieve the state of ultimate bliss, one has to escape from the wheel of rebirth. In most of all ancient religions with a belief in reincarnation, the soul entering in body is seen as a metaphysical demotion, an impure rite of passage.
It is known that the ancient Egyptians believed in reincarnation or the transmigration of the soul. They thought the soul transmigrated from body to body and this was a said to be a reason why they embalmed the body in order to preserve it so that it could journey along with ka, an animating force that was believed to be counterpart of the body, which would accompany it in the next world or life. Ka might be considered equivalent to the term of soul. This establishes the dating of the concept of reincarnation back to the ancient Egyptian religion but many think it dates beyond antiquity.
Reincarnation does seem to offer an explanation for some strange phenomena such as the ability of some people to regress to a past life under hypnosis. Any comments?

I both believe and know what it is.
I still eat meat, 'cause I believe it's part of being what we are. Everything has to eat..and everything eats everything else, since I believe everything has a soul, including plants, it's just..the natural order of things to me.
Anyway, lovely post. Very well informed.
