I am looking for some short courses which I can do online. There are a lot of subjects I would like to cover. Are there any online colleges which function in the UK, the courses must be either free or very cheap, and the course must be entirely online with online help. Could anyone help me find anything? I am looking for all subjects but particularly anything to do with finance, media and arts, alternative therapies, spirituality and world religion.

The only one I've come across which is actually free is a typing course but if I find any others I will be sure to let you know. I have looked at other things but they are usually a few lessons free and then you have to pay.

Hello there! This is my first semester taking online classes. You kind them at your nearest univeristy or community college. You have to keep in mind it's differnt than going to school. You're on your own. You have to check on you online class at least twice a week and to top it off there is a lot of READING involved. It's all about time management!

Thanks for the advice but I need to actually need help with finding somewhere which does online courses. My nearest colleges don't do them and the university courses are far too expensive.

There's courses all over the world which are recognized worldwide. The important thing is to make sure they're real courses, and accredited officially. I promise you, in media, arts, and finance, if a course isn't accredited, it's worse than worthless. Make sure you compare prices, too. You could pay a fortune for a worthless course, and miss a good, accredited course charging much less. No employer, or anyone else, is going to be too pleased about anybody with a useless qualification which isn't recognized. Be extremely careful, and don't sign up with any college you've never heard of before. Suggest you check up with college site first. Even if a bit more expensive, at least you know they're worth paying for.

Thanks for that. I won't sign up with anything I don't trust. And I know the main official bodies to look out for. I have lookedat local colleges but they don't even offer any courses worth doign, let alone online! The thing with the expense is that it doesn't matter whether something is worth paying for, I simply don't have that much money which is why I need something cheap.
