Thanks for the tips; heres a one for you :)
Brushes
To straighten brush bristles, hold them in the steam of a boiling kettle, then remove from the steam and pull them straight by hand. Repeat if necessary. Steam can cause servere burns, so care must be taken (had a steam burn before and it hurt BAD)
Soak the new bristle brushes with wooden heads in cold water for about two hours to swell the wood and secure the bristles. Then dry in a shaded place with the head of the brush off the ground.
Wash all househould bristle brushes in hot soapy watyer with a little washing soda, then plunge them into a cold water and ry, head up in the sun.
To clean haribrushes, first remove the hair and dust, then treat the back and handle according to the material. Wash the bristles by beating them up and down in !qt. (1 liter) warm soapy water with 1 tablespoon ammonia added. Rinse in warm, then cold water with a little salt to stiffen the bristles. Then shake well and hang up to dry.
I hate it when my bristles fall out of my brush, don't you?
