What's the strangest way you've ever managed to stain a carpet?

It wasn't me, it was my younger sister when she was about 3. She got a tin of beetroot out of the fridge and used the juice to draw pictures on the floor. My parents were not impressed.

I take my plants outdoors in the summer so they will get even bigger. In the fall, I bring them inside for the winter. One fall I brought in this huge plant in a 2 foot x 2foot tub and set it in the living room. I didn't water it until I brought it in because it would have been too heavy to move. So, I watered it in the living room. My dog was just a puppy then, and ran by knocking it over about 1/2 an hour after I watered it thoroughly. I had about 3 bags worth of mud in a huge pile after she tipped it over! I scooped up as much as I could and then cried because I thought my light colored mauve carpet was ruined...and it was new wall-to-wall carpeting, eeeeek! After I got done crying, I went and got a huge bag of kitty litter and dumped it over top of the mud and let it set a while. After the floor dried on it's own I took my shop vac and sucked up the kitty litter. I was amazed that the carpet only needed a little bit of rug cleaner to remove the rest of the traces where the mud was.
