Question about the PSP screen. |
| |
| My daughter just purchased a PSP entertainment pack. The screen has a small green dot on it when she turns it on and the dot stays there. Is this normal? Should I take it back? | | | | | |

| | Hi I just bought a computer moniter that had somewhat of a similiar problem. Everything was fine with it except that it had a white spot on the corner which just stayed there. When I took it back, the store told me that there was a dead pixel and they replaced it for free. I'm guessing that's the same problem your daughter has with her PSP. Anyways hope it helped. | | | | | | |

| | Well I don't know If This is normal But i have the same problem. but, i looked it up on the Playstation.com Forums and they said Either just deal with it (it doesn't harm your playstation portable system) Or You can E-mail Sony Telling them about your problem. I have the same problem i don't care as long as i can still play games and get online | | | |

| | ok when you buy your PSP, there is obviously a warrenty that comes with it. u can take the psp and everything in the box and return it to the store that u bought it from and exchange it. they, as in the store, will replace your psp with no charge just as long as you have your recipt and box and etc..hope that helps | | | |

| | Oh there was no problem with Best Buy taking it and replacing it since it literally was purchased less then 24 hours after we returned it. I was just curious if this was something that was "typical", etc. The guy at Best Buy said that it is fairly typical for these. | | | |

| | I think you can also connect the psp with the computer and use a certain program to remove dead pixels (it flashes the screen for a time and the pixels disappear). | | | | | | |

| | Ahhh.. interesting. I didn't realize that you could do something like that. I'll have to check Sony's site just in case it happens again! We've since had the PSP replaced, no problems. | | | |

| | I have one that also has the same problem. It does not seem to hurt game or movie performance though, so I don't worry about it. This is actually my second system - the first one that I bought was damaged in shipping and would not read the disks. I replaced it and they both have the same green dot on the right side of the screen. I wouldn't be too concerned as long as it does not interfear with watching the movies or playing the games. | | | | | | |

| | It's probably a dead pixel and that problem is very common among psp users. I think there are a lot of dead pixel fixer programs on the net ready for downloading. I used it once in my other psp and it really worked but only for 2 weeks and I used the program again and it worked again. | | | | | | |

| | Thanks. We had the PSP replaced since it came that way. The guy at BestBuy said it was a very common problem they had and that in the beginning they were getting back more then 1/2 of the PSP's for this. The problem seems to have been fixed a bit, not quite so wide spread, but still is common I guess. Thanks for the info! | | | |

| | I do agree with most people that this would be a dead pixel. But there are ways to fix it. I dont think that this pixel thing would be under warrenty | | | | | | |

| | Thanks. The store actually did take it back but it's good to know that there are things out there to remove them in case it happens to her screen again. | | | |
