This might sound dumb, but I was just wondering. I have never owned a car with airbags. Once the airbags have popped, can they just be replaced or is the car considered a write off ? (depending on the amount of damage)

Oh, this is an interesting topic, because there are not that many cars in my country with airbags. I was always curious when I see airbags pop out in cars in the movies or tv shows, and I always thought, what happens next? I really think that car manufacturers that export their cars here should put airbags for safer driving.

Not a dumb question at all, in fact it is different for every vehicle and where the airbags are at. Some can be repacked and reassembled without replacing the steering wheel and such, but there are some cars, newer, that do require replacing almost the whole steering column. Personally, if I had to replace all that, I would probably just leave it as is. I know that isn't practicing safe driving all that much, but I try to be as safe a driver as I can be and I wear my seltbelt at all times, so I think I might be able to get away with it. :)

Thats sounds like a hassle with some of the bags. But yes you always have to wear your belt.
