I realize that I sent in a recipe last week that called for Bisquick. You may not have this product in your area. So, here is a recipe for it.
8 cups flour
1/4 cup baking powder
4 teaspon salt
1 cup instant dry milk
1 1/2 cup shortening
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until mixture is like coarse corn meal. Keep in covered container. May be stored at room temperature. Yield about 11 cup mix.

I figured I better send in this recipe as it is needed for the broccoli recipe that I sent in yesterday. This makes great biscuits when you add milk.

Thanks for the recipe, I'd lost mine and was about to look for it when I seen your discussion.
**In Australia, you can buy an organic biscuit mix "Gluten Free Biscuit Mix" I cant remember who its made by but you'll find it in most supermarkets in the health isle's. Im also sure White Wings or Anchor used to make one, but I havent seen it for a really long time. Or you can check at a health food store, they'll certainly have one.
If your in a large town or city check near the Anchor Pastry Mix and you might find one.
I just found this on http://foodsubs.com (Cook's Thesaurus), thought it might help other Aussies
Biscuit mix Notes:
Use this mix to make biscuits as well as pancakes and other baked goods. Bisquick is a well-known brand.
To make biscuits from biscuit mix, combine 2 parts biscuit mix with 1 part water, roll out on floured surface, cut into biscuits, and bake for about 10 minutes at 425ยบ.
To make your own:
Combine 3 cups flour (preferable cake or pastry flour), 1/3 cup powdered milk, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 cup shortening. Sift together the dry ingredients, then mix in the shortening until the mix reaches a sandy consistency. Cover and store in a cool place.

I love bisquick biscuits but I have not bought the product in years. I tend to be a creature of habit and I eat the same things all the time. As soon as more money flows into my budget I plan on trying more recipes.

I see no reason why you can't use whole wheat flour instead. If you do, let me know how it turns out.

Thank you for your recipe. I will add this one to my files. we can't always get bisquick at the grocery store so being able to make your own comes in very handy.

Hahaha same thing happened to me the other day. Thanks for posting this. I was going to do a search and see if I could find a recipe for bisquick..lol I just passed it on, it's quite handy to have and alot cheaper than buying it at the store. I love making simple drop busquits for a snack or with any meal. They are so easy and great with honey or jam on them...yumm. Thanks again.
