fantasy reformation

Ok I know this is never going to happen (Joe's dead, Paul wasn't even interested in turning up for the Hall Of Fame let alone reforming the band for the show and Topper seems to have stopped performing) - and it's not really something I want to happen, just a what if question inspired by the Police reunion and The Jam getting back together without Weller.
If the band were getting back together with a new singer, who should that be?
If Joe hadn't died do you think they would have reformed for the Hall Of Fame? nd if so would this have been a good or bad thing.

I think Jake Burns would have made a grear singer for a reformation and would have done it in the right spirit. However, no i dont think they would have done a police style reformation, do they still talk? im not sure.
I dont really like reformations anyway, id just like to keep my memories
