Do you want to see Barry Bonds break Hank Aaron's HR record?  

Because of the steroids allegations and the seemingly overwhelming proof outlined by current grand jury investiagions and the book "Game of Shadows" which outlines Bonds' involvement with BALCO and the performance-enhancing drugs in the world.

The Book "Game of Shadows" is all hearsay, first of all. Nobody who spoke in that book has admitted to saying anything. They have all spoken off the record and a I don't believe the journalists are above fabricating a story line.

Secondly, you can't put the burden of a whole generation on one man. The use of steroids has been blamed on Barry, when the other names are skating scot free. Roger Clemens, Brady Anderson are names never mentioned, yet it was the name of pitchers that have come up since they started testing.

Thirdly, and to me most importantly, you need to judge a player against his peers at the time. He has completely dominate his peers, and if it is true that he used steroids as "Game of Shadows" implies because everyone else was using it and they couldn't hold a candle to him, then more power to him.

There's plenty of good players whom did not use steroids, and they were successful in our current era. In addition, how can you say more power to a guy that cheats? Forget "The Game of Shadows," use common sense, and common sense should not tell you, 'Hey, if one person does it...maybe I should do it too.'

I know he's not the only one to use 'roids, and I sincerely hope that all those that did are chastised for doing so. But, common sense tells me this will never happen, nor will the truth ever come to light, for fear of ruining the integrity of the game.

Let's not forget that the burden isn't necessarily just on Bonds, first of all. Jason Giambi has seen his career take a downswing for it, as has Rafael Palmiero, and Sammy Sosa, and even to some extent Mark McGwire. No one is putting the "burden" on Bonds, the chase for the records puts an appropriate amount of burden on Bonds. As high as Sosa and McGwire got, they were never within reach of Hank Aaron like Bonds is...

i think the biggest burden on this issue isn't with the players, it goes to the management of baseball... everyone thought it was kosher in 1998 when McGwire and Sosa were swinging for the fences, but now that all this testimony and evidence is appearing, it's not nearly such a happy issue for Bud Selig and baseball in general.

I was one of Barry Bonds' staunchest supporters. i was *positive* he wasn't cheating, i defended him against every detractor there was. i cheered #73, i cheered #600, i cheered #715, but i am absolutely sick of it now. i don't want them, they can have it back. I want baseball to give me back my game, and if that means taking away every single win that Barry Bonds contributed to in the 14 or so years he's played in the Giants organization, then so be it.

can he redeem himself? take the damned test, deny it... there is too much negativity around this to continue. a comedian said this, and although it was meant as a joke about Michael Jackson, this applies to the situation. no one persists in accusing someone of something unless they're guilty. why do the reports keep coming up against Bonds? because they are there. if the questions and the doubts weren't there, this wouldn't be news. everything about this is a circus and i am sick of it, as a Giants fan, but more importantly than that a baseball fan, i am ready to move on... i hope he gets the sense knocked into him and he retires at #754.

its funny, you and i might be in an alarming minority among Giants fans concerning this record. they always cheer at AT&T when he hits a homerun... it's hard though, cause you want to see the Giants win, but you're right, it has gone way too far.
