I think that if she looks good in the dress she should wear it.
I think people are flexible enough about things that it won't be seen as unusual, and black is the color associated with formal occasions.
After all, everyone SHOULD be looking at the bride and groom!

If the reception is at night, I don't see why not. Is there any dress code that the couple specified? If yes then you will follow that specification. If the reception is at noon, maybe wear something brighter.

yes. both of you are only guests to the wedding. I bet so many people will wear evening gowns or any dark coloured gowns since the reception is at night anyways.

She can wear anything that she pleases now a days. However, my opinion for March would tend to wear a lighter color.

Unless your daughter is going to a Chinese wedding black dress is a no.If not it is an acceptable color most especially if the wedding is to be held on the evening.

I guess it totally depends on your culture. For the Chinese, it is bad luck to have even a guest wear a black dress to a wedding. This means that the wedding has been blighted.
It probably wouldn't be a good idea to wear black for a March wedding. A more appropriate color would be a spring color. Even a navy blue would be preerable to wearing black.
But the best way to find out is to ask the bride or the groom if it is okay to wear black. :)

I didn't think it was proper but I went to a 3:00 pm wedding and I was shocked at all the colors I saw. I believe it all depends what time the wedding is. If it is an afternoon wedding with an evening reception I think black is definitely appropriate since it is an evening color. Hope that helps~!

i dont believe in these things so i dont have any problem in wearing black dress on weddings but the society wont accept it and we have to adjust ourselves according to the surrounding :)
