Could we increase our star rating. I only have 8, can we make it higher?

Star rating is the way you are rated by the other users so in a sense, it is the users that upgrade (down grade) your ratings. Just concentrate on posting quality discussions that you think will earn + ratings from the community and you are on your way up to 10. But you may have to prepare yourself for the worst, that inspite of your good intentions and effort, you may see your reputation go down as experienced by many of us here. I've been a 10 for a long time but for some unknown reasons I dropped down to 9 and has been here for weeks. I know of someone whose ratings jumped down from 10 to 7 and haven't changed since then. That being said, mylot is assuring us that safeguards against rogue users are in place, so let's just hope for the best. Cheers.

Well I am stuck at 9 as I am trying my best to reply lengthy replies which I am not used to as even in exams I never wrote lengthy answers yet I got good marks as my answers used to be relevant. But here it seems length of the answer is the criteria of rating or may be the number of posts you do per day. Well I am not sure.

Just keep responding to discussions. People have to rate you a (+) to make your rating go up. It's basically a popularity thing. Mylot upgrades the star rating every 24 hours just like your earnings. Good luck on getting your 10 star rating.
