Ok.. I'm about to have a baby and I just can't see myself dealing with a mop and bucket to clean my floors... maybe if it were just the kitchen and bathroom, but my entire house is hardwoods and linoleum, so mopping gets to be quite a chore when you have so much square footage and two dogs that shed. I am trying to streamline my household chores to make it easier for me to keep up once the baby arrives. I hate the mop because it stinks after just a few uses and then you have to throw it out, and the sponge mops get gross easily as well, or they get torn up after a few uses. Has anyone tried the Swiffer wetjet, and how well does it actually work? Is it worth buying the refills? I want good product reviews before I go out and spend 20$ on yet another floor cleaner!! Thanks!

I wasn't as happy with mine as I hoped I would be. We have all hardwood (fake hardwood) floors and I HATE having to mop. We bought the WetJet but I often have to clean up after it. If you spill something, sometimes the WJ just pushes it around and makes it worse, like apple juice. I used the WJ to clean it up and all it did was made the whole floor sticky instead of cleaning up a small spill area. I used a paper towel for the excess, but used the WJ to mop afterwards since I knew it would be sticky. It made more work for me since I had to re-mop the whole floor instead of a small area.
If I just want to clean over the floor (after I sweep really well) for everyday tracking it is okay, but I still have to mop almost as much as I did before.

As a side note, if you chose to get one, you can go to the website and print out a coupon. Also, a friend told me that what she did was when she ran out of pads for it was that she used a dishtowel and it worked just as well as the pads. The grips held the towel in place and when she was done she tossed it in the wash. She also sometime uses Vinegar and water in the container after she ran out for cleaner. It can get expensive replacing that stuff, but there are ways around it if need be. Just a couple of tips if you decide to get one.
Also, I write product reviews on Epinions.com. They have the WetJet listed and they have TONS of reviews for it. I haven't written one for that product yet, but it's another place you can get some feedback. www.epinions.com

I use mine for all the quick clean ups. Like "Mom I dumped the milk" that sort of thing but I still find that at least once a month I have to break out the Lysol floor cleaner and mop and really get the floors clean.
My friend has a floor cleaner for her hardwoods that is like a vaccum only it sprays cleaner and then sucks it back up. I think it is a Eureka of some kind I know she bought it at wal-mart.

I have one and I like but don't like the cleaner they provide. I like the Clorox wet mop better. The Swiffer cleaner leaves a sticky film on one of my tile floors and I can't figure that out because it doesn't do that on the other floors. If I knew for sure the lid would go back on the bottle of the Swiffer I would refill the bottle with another cleaner.
