Someone offered me a 10GB Hitachi USB external hard drive for only $40... I believe this is a good deal. Am I right? I hope I am. Anyway, the only thing I'm unsure of is the brand..., I haven't used hitachi computer products before. Need your opinion on this one.

I wouldn't believe that is a good buy. I didn't even realise that actually made 10gb external hardrives. I picked up a 280gb external harddrive here in Australia late last year for the mid$100s AUD. So I cannot see a 10gb one for 40 being a good buy. I'd probably look around a bit more.

I have no idea of the prices in the Phillipines, so I am unable to say whether this is good value or not. However, an external drive can be very useful for storing important data and for backups of your computer system.
The make is not always a good guideline as to the quality of the hardware, so I would not be too concerned about that.
