The best selling point about Milwaukee for you is that there is someone there that loves you more than anything.

http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=488353 this site might have the information to make it appealing to you. With the lowest unemployment rate that would really appeal to me. You get two cities as well, that opens many possibilities depending on the things you are interested in. Good luck with your move. Please keep us posted.

While the cities around Milwaukee are great, Milwaukee itself is a rat hole with an incompetent government. If you have kids, you want to stay far away from Milwaukee Public Schools. They are violent and "brag" about a 50% literacy rate. In the last 3 days there have been 6 incidents of violence. Twice there have been riots at High Schools, where kids called in their parents to come join in the fight. Milwaukee's voilent crime rate is one of the fastest growing in the nation. There are a lot of great things going on in Wisconsin, and Milwaukee does have a lot to offer for visitors, but when I got a job running ambulance in Milwaukee, it was cheaper and safer for me to commute 60 miles than to live in Milwaukee.

I just moved to Milwaukee last August for school. It is a nice city - with a lot of housing options depending on what you're looking for. It is pretty spread out however, with no one place to go to "get everything." The winters are cold - but manageable. There is a lot of snow - but that is just the midwest for you. All in all, I like it.
