Hi! My favorite is the soundtrack to Xanadu! Now I know I'm dating myself here, but my high school friends and I listened to that soundtrack almost every minute for about 2 years! Wow! Good stuff and great memories! :-)

LOL! Yes, you could say that! I remember when songs like Turn to Stone were popular! I was in about 8th grade, I think! :-)

I was going to say Mr Blue sky as well but that just sounds boring now so i will go for Roll over beathoven. The beginning when it goes from the classical to the electric guitars is brilliant

Wow, good to hear someone else appreciates ELO, I think that Mr Blue Sky is a classic and everyone has heard that song, there are a quite a few unknown ones which are just as good. I'm not too keen on Xanadu to be honest was ELO's version of Xanadu the original or did they copy it? I have lent the album to my mum because she loves them too. My favourite track is confusion (track 8 on the album) and The Diary Of Horace Wimp, some excellent classics!

Hi! Are we talking about Electric Light Orchestra? I have only been exposed to like two songs from them , MIDNIGHT BLUE and GETTING TO THE POINT. And I adore both songs. I havent had any luck getting my hands on any of their album. What does the song Mr. Blue Sky have that makes you smile? I'm curious. Please could you help me? I'm totally ignorant about ELO and I'd love any educating on your part :). Is it possible to ask for a copy of that song? Or would I have to download it from the internet (sigh).
Thank you so much for this post. Have a great day. Happy posting!

I've got to throw in a vote for Standing in the Rain, on the album Out of the Blue. It's a perfect example of their classic sound, fusing an orchestra with a rock sound, along with stellar, complex vocals. It's always been my favorite track of theirs.
