cleaning the mirror on my hitachi 46f500

I tried to clean the mirror on my rear projection tv with a dry cloth first and it just smeered. Then I tried alcohol on a cotton cloth and it's like there is greese on the mirror and it will not come clean. Please help

i would think glass cleaner would help, but i think generally, you should have the mirror professionally cleaned instead of doing it yourself. that part of the projection tv is really sensitive and you may end up ruining the lens/mirror if you don't know exactly how to do it or what to use on it.

If you have the owners manual, look in it to see if they have something that they suggest you clean the mirror with. I would try a commerical product - like Windex - that can cut through the grease.
