Pathe films and the BBC are going to be making a film based on Margeret Thatcher in the days leading up to the Falklands War.
from yahoo news
"The film will portray Lady Thatcher as an unpopular Prime Minister whose fortunes were transformed by her decision to reclaim the Falklands from the Argentinians in 1982.
It will show her "wrestling with her own private fears, facing down the men who doubted her and forging her image as the Iron Lady", according to Variety."
some reports link it to the recent success of The Queen and Helen Mirren's potrayal (because Pathe were also involved)
It's sounds like a similar kind of film, taking a real life still living person, and a relativly recent historical event and showing private and personal viewpoints of both them & it.
Do you think this is something that should be made?
Who would be a good choice to play Thatcher?
There's a more detailed description on the bbc's site (below) that makes it sound like it's planned to be a positive portrayal but BBC tv portrayals have been usually in a negative light.
