I have never been to a show on Broadway. Have you?

I've always wanted to see a Broadway show, but I live thousands of miles away and cannot afford it. Heck, I'd even see an off Broadway show, it if it was tasteful. Have you ever seen a Broadway show? If so, what was the name of it and what was it about? Does anyone have a show they'd like to see, but have not been able to yet?

Was Les Miserables better on Broadway, or in the movie film? You might not have seen the film, it co-starred Claire Danes.

I've seen two plays in Broadway and many more in the places I've lived. Cabaret in Studio 54 was a big production with Molly Ringwald. The audience was sitting in tables and you could order your drinks. The actor would sometimes walk around the first few tables like in a cabaret. Molly was a surprise in the role that many associate with Lisa Minelli of the movie. Urinetown was a off off Broadway that grew up to receive some awards. I saw in the Broadway face and was something to remember. Not oly for the production but the contents and execution. When we talk about Broadway is about big musical productions and lately there have been franchises spreading all over the world. I saw Les Miserables in Sao Paulo and it really felt and looked like Broadway.

That is very cool. Shows like that are being put on everywhere, but since we all hear of Broadway being the starting point of all the original shows, then it is what I guess I would focus on going to.

I have never seen a Broadway show, but I have seen West End shows and they are excellent. The ones I have seen are Miss Saigon and The Phantom I went to see the Phantom when I was 18 for my birthday with my mum. Miss Saigon with my mum too I think this was for my 21st though I am not sure. I am watching a new staging of the record breaking 1990s Joseph on British television right now. It is a show where you have to choose your favourite Joseph to go through to the next show. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s shows are all amazing and I think he is an inspiration.

I remember hearing about Andrew Lloyd Webber even before I knew what he was famous for. Now I know, and I agree completely, he is an inspiration.

My daughter, who is very gifted in voice and drama, had a dream of seeing a Broadway play. For her 16th birthday, we surprised her with a trip to New York. My son lives nearby and we told her we were going to his house for her birthday and traveling into a nearby city (not New York City). She sat in the car clueless as we parked in lot of a New Jersey hotel. As we stood outside after checking in, waiting on a bus that would take us to New York City, she finally realized when she saw the front of the bus! We told her that the trip to New York was planned so last minute that we coudln't get tickets to any shows but at least she was getting to see the sights. Three days into the trip, we presented her with her Broadway ticket during lunch at the HardRock Cafe. I have never seen her cry so much! The show as wonderful! (Billy Joel's Moving Out) I yearn to go back and see another show, but alas, it was an expensive trip and one that we won't be able to do again for a while!

Wow, that is amazing. She is really blessed to have you guys for parents! My dad wanted to take me to New York City this summer, but money is just too tight for us both. I like to think I'll make it there someday though. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story!

I have seen Miss Saigon and Phantom of the Opera. That was in London when I was there studying. Both are very good and I even cried at some of the scenes. The singing was powerful and fantastic. The accopanying orchestra was good too. I wonder how they can coordinate such good shows.. I would love to watch CATS... I missed it the other time!!

I was disappointed Cats closed on Broadway. I guess though it ran for decades.

the top one that i've always wanted to see is rent. i am in love with the story, the story behind it, and its message. the movie came out and it was like ehhh... its good but not like seeing it live i'm sure. its about a bunch of broke bohemian artists in new york city, a few of them living with aids, and basically just about life and happiness and love. its a really powerful story, and the story behind its creation makes it even more so. you should check it out if you haven't already.

I have heard of the story. I knew it has been on Broadway for quite a while. My friend rented the movie, but didn't really care for it. I won't be able to go to Broadway for a long time, but I bet Rent is still playing even then.
