Tell me.... Can music make you cry???.... Who is the artist and why???.... |
| |
| I cry, my tears fall like rain. I listen to music when I feel that I need to cry. Old memories come back in a flash when I hear a music that cuts into me and breaks me into pieces without any concern that I can anytime. When I have problems with love and suddenly in a bus I hear Eric Clapton's River of tears, I can't stop my self from being sad. Even on a sunny day in my life where everything is fine, that song brings me to a dark state and remember the brain smashing love tearing me apart. Another is when I remember my mom, she died when I was 18 years old, when I hear the music of "Somewhere in Time" or "Send in the Clowns".... I burst into tears and it breaks my legs that I would kneel and cry over her loss. Enough about me.... How about you? | | | | | |

| | Indeed there are such melodies that can make me (and everyone else) cry, different songs for each - regardless of bringing back memories or having an intense emotional tone. | | | | | | |

| | can music make me cry? definitely yes. it'd be tears in heaven by eric clapton. the song has such powerful words and melodies. whenever i hear the song i always remember my garndpa and my little who passed away, hoping they would recognize me if i see them in heaven. i guess clapton has a strange way of making listeners cry. | | | | | | |

| | Yes, there are a lot of songs that makes me cry. One is the song by Brian Mcknight, One last cry. And other heartbroken songs. It reminds me of my broken relationships. | | | | | | |

| | Yngwie Malmsteen's "I'm My Own Enemy" always makes me shed some tears. I remember a lot of special people in my life when I listen to it. The song I think, is about people we truly love. It's also about endless sorrow and facing the challenges of life alone. Corny but true. :-) | | | | | | |

| | There are a couple of songs that can bring me to tears. One is Eric Clapton's "Tears In Heaven" and the other is, funnily enough, Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting." "Tears in Heaven" gets to me because of having lost a couple of very dear people. The story behind "Right Here Waiting" is a bit longer, though... A couple of years ago, I met this amazing guy. It didn't take me long at all, really, to find myself falling in love with him. When I finally got the nerve to confess to him how I felt, I was pleasantly surprised to find that he felt the same way. We were inseparable (except for when we had no choice in the matter! lol) from that moment on. That song came on the radio one day while we were just hanging out together, and he sang along. A few days later, he handed me a note with the chorus quoted on it. Not long after, I broke up with him.:( The primary cause for my decision was that I felt that I had "too much baggage" and that I was more trouble than I could possibly be worth. I didn't discuss that with him, I just made up his mind for him! Oh, what a mistake. We didn't speak again for a long time. One day, though, we ... ran into one another. And for a while, he just ... stood there, and waited for me to notice. When I did, I was concerned that my presence would be disruptive or upsetting to him, so I made it a point to talk to him, and tell him that I didn't mean to be a problem. He simply said that it would be nice to be able to talk sometimes. My heart, I think, literally stopped. I'd never stopped loving him. After breaking up with him, I expected that he'd never want to talk to me again. I honestly thought that that was better for him. But you know what they say about the road to Hell being paved with good intentions. Being without him was the hardest thing I think I ever did. So, I was thrilled that he wanted to talk to me at all. And talk we did. Daily. Eventually, of course, we came round to the talk about "why?" I told him how I'd felt that I was more trouble than I was worth, and how I felt it was better for him. He, of course, wondered why I didn't think he had a say in the matter, and he told me he still felt "something" but wasn't sure what "something" was. So, I tried to content myself with being "just a friend." That was practically impossible! Every time I saw him, or heard his voice, I just wanted to reach out to him. I wanted so badly to know that he still loved me, too. I waited, I tried waiting patiently, even... I told him, though, one day that I loved him, that I would always love him, and that it was okay and understandable if he didn't feel the same, but that IF he had feelings for me, to please tell me so. His response to me was "...those feelings are still there, because they were never gone." And it hit me like a ton of bricks. I remembered how he'd sang along with that song, and I remembered how he'd made it a point to write the lyrics down for me. I knew that he'd meant it with all his heart at that moment. And I think I just may have been the happiest girl alive.;-) We've been together ever since, and this time, I'm not about to do any decision-making FOR him ever again!:) Woo... like I said, long story. But that's the "why!" | | | | | | |

| | Very well said, Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx makes me cry too and I get goose bumps whenever I hear the song. It is the favorite song of my brother who died 18 years ago. Every time the song plays on the radio, it appears to me as a reminder and the creepy part of it is when I hear the song, it comes to me when I am sad or have a big problem.... | | | |

| | Tim McGraw - Don't take the girl ... Because I'm ABLE to get pregnant (supposedly) However, I'm not SUPPOSED to HAVE children. It's potentially life threatening for myself and the child. The lyrics that always get to me are these; "Doctor says the baby's fine, but you'll have to leave. Cause his momma's fading fast and Johnny hit his knees and there he prayed - Take the very breath you gave me. Take the heart from my chest. I'll gladly take her place if you'll let me, make this my last request. Take me out of this world...God please, don't take the girl" If you're unfamilar with that song, you'd have to listen (or read) the whole thing to even feel the entire impact of that song. So obviously, because of my "condition" and lack of ability to give birth, it gets to me. Another one would be Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole - Unforgettable. My grandpa and I used to sing this song together when I was a little girl. He was my buddy, my inspiration, my surrogate dad. We lost him expectedly just over a year ago. | | | | | | |
