Are you going to redecorate?

It is officially Spring. Do you redecorate your home for a new season? Our local newspaper had an entire insert on how to redecorate your home for different seasons. Is this something that you do or do your current decorations and furnishings stay year round?

We have never been able to redecorate yet. That will come after the house is paid for but we did get the bathroom and the kitchen painted this year, I'm so happy about that. We are now doing the entry way done and that will be it for this year. Take care and Happy Decorating to all !!!

We're going to jazz up the master bedroom a little. We just got a new king sized bed and some new artwork and are thinking of adding a lick of paint. The new bed is very bad news for the pygmy nation that currently resides under our old one...their entire ecosystem will be destroyed in the move...(can you imagine what people who haven't read the old discussions must think of that previous statement...LOL)

I usually change things around in the spring, not really redecorating. I change out the wool things (plaids, etc) for lighter cotton 'summery' prints. I change the front door decor from winter time theme to a spring floral arrangement in a grapevine heart-shaped wreath, and on the other entry door I usually put a child's straw hat decorated with colorful ribbons and flowers, or something lighter in theme. I change things in my entryway so that the winter (standing) coat rack is removed and some white wicker is added in basketry. I also move some blooming plants into the entryways, in the spring, that wouldn't be able to survive the winter there. I switch out the velveteen pillows for cotton summer prints, remove heavier tablecloths, etc, to reflect a light and airy look. I go for the lighter weight (and color) fabrics in the nice weather, and the heavier stuff in the winter, for a warmer look. I like doing it, it's like getting a whole new house twice a year, lol.

Those are just the types of things that this circular recommended. I don't have storage space for extra sets of pillows and such. I so wish that I did!

I just redid my bathroom. I have a few more things to do and it is done. I think that will be all for now, maybe redo my bedroom.

It's not a total redecorating scheme for me. But I do lighten things up a bit with spring flowers and a bright table cloth. Just like during the holidays, but not quite so extravagant.

Well I think redocarating as per different seasons is a nice option. But I think at our place redecorating is done maybe once in 2 years or so. I think each season has its own look like winters it should be warm in the house, summers should be open and airy etc.. but we stick to the current decorations for a year. Then we change the decor.

Well it's been a long, very long lonely and depressing winter. I have been so depressed that I can't hardly stand myself. Well I think I'm finally climbing out of my hole..lol I am getting ready to throw out half the house and start fresh. I still have a stupid 3 foot Christmas tree in the corner of the living room...that's how bad I've been. I set Monday is my start date...boy will my brother be mad when he comes next Sunday to take trash to the dump...hehehe I don't really change much for the seasons. But I am so overdue for a good old fashioned spring cleaning.

I don't redecorate for a new season, but I did Spring Clean. Everything was cleaned, top to bottom. It all looks so fresh now! I changed a few things around to make it look a little more different and organized. So, I have a new look, with all the old stuff I love!

Hi crazynurse, well I haven't been on for awhile as I've been redecorating the living room big style! everything has changed I've got rid of all my old furniture and had all new in! so it's took me about two weeks to get it completed. I love decorating and hopefully I shall do another room later in the year but it does tire me out.. These last few days has been really hard work as we had a skip to get rid of all the old stuff and I'm three stories up and only have stairs so you can imagine how tiring that was! I try to decorate at least once or twice a year depending on what needs doing! last year it was the bathroom and the hallway and now my bedroom and kitchen now needs re-doing!
