big dog or small dog?  

I prefer smaller dogs just because this is what we always had growing up . Also my daughter was bit by a dog when she was little and I have been nervous of dogs every sence and although I am still nervous , I am not as scared of the little one's as I realize that it would be easier to get one of them off you if for some reason you had to .

i prefer small breeds because you can let them stay inside the house =) they seemed to be more playful and cute too.

I prefer smaller dogs, and that is what I have. I have a shih-tzu, she is 2, and her name is Katie! She is excellent with my 9 month old daughter too.

I like the big dogs, they are a great deterant when out walking etc...they are more gentle with kids and love being inside the house.I find the little dogs to be very yappy and constantly barking and jumping up.

I like big dogs. I had 2 Weimaraners, but one died, and now I have a German Shorthair to keep the other dog company. Some little dogs are okay, but for the most part, I just don't like them as much. The only drawback of big dogs is that you can't really have them inside with you unless they're very, very well behaved and you have the space. The problem with little dogs, though, is that you have to have them inside. They can't really stay outside. They don't seem like they could handle it.

I love small dogs. They can cuddle up in your lap. You can keep them in your house and have a companion with you at all times. For me small dogs is the way to go.
