what is your pet's absolutely favorite toy?
when it is time to wash/replace the item,is there an arguement with the pet to give it up?my female cat has an absolutely disgusting spit-matted mousie that she will not let me replace.
i tried to give her a brand new one,but she wailed and i gave it back to her, gross or not.

That's funny--I guess her ratty old looking mouse toy is the equivalent to a child's security blanket. I have a lot of nice cat toys all around the place but my two pampered brats don't seem to go for toys. At one time I was actually thinking of getting some kind of kitty condo, but I bet it'd be just a waste. I was also thinking of getting nice comfy kitty beds -- one for each of them...but they seem perfectly content with the big cardboard box that I placed one of my old pillows in which I change the pillow case for them every week--heaven forbid they have a dirty pillowcase!!! --LOL

a dirty pillowcase in their majesties bed?
no way;)
oh yes,i have one of those cats too.
i had one of those pet beds for them once-it was dog size,so more than one could fit in peaceably? (i thought)..one liked it,the other saw he liked it..and made a litterbox of it.
then, neither liked it LOL.you got to love when they pull rank on each other.

I don't have him anymore, my beloved dapple Dachshund, Smogie, but his favourite toy was his little "Booda Bone." He would go through those like crazy. Come to think of it, the other dogs I've had have also been crazy about theirs, too. My Siamese cat, Cognac, has a little panda bear stuffed animal that she carries around like it's her baby. It's all matted and nasty looking, but I don't tell her that. *laugh out loud*

You'll probably have to go at it when the cat's asleep (when the mice come out to play). If it can be cleaned, clean it, & hopefully, the cat will still enjoy it. The reason I say 'hopefully' is because after a cleaning, the cat may no longer be interested in it. I hope that does not turn out to be the case.

i'm betting she'll turn her back on it if it's washed.
she's been sitting on it since i tried to exchange it.it's funny, she has about 40 other little toys, but she's so picky over this one.

Our dog had a spider type toy with rope legs that she absolutely obsesses about. She'll ignore it for hours on end but as soon as you touch it she'll come and grab it out your hands and lay on top of it and look at you with the most pathetic sad eyes, and if you try to take it then, she'll grab it and run off.

my dog has his own rubber puppy which he use to take with him to his bed in night
though he is quite friendly but if any one dare to take his puppy he got fierce and its seems to be a big issue to stop him. he will play with that puppy but never even tries to hurt him. and the other dog she is a darling and loves to play with ball. as soon as you will hold her ball she will be there as if you are going to throw it for her to take it back but that person shouldn't be a stranger as it might create problem for that fellow as soon as he/she will hold the ball

aw..
it has a baby :)
a friend of mine had a dog with a small teddy bear
if you went to wash it,he would sit patiently by the dryer the whole time and snap it up as soon as it came out.you had to trick him to get it in the washer though LOL

Our cats don't really play with store bought toys. They like a throw rug I have that is on a wooden floor. Their favorite thing is to run, dive, and try to slide it across the floor, then they 'attack' it. They kick it with their hind legs, roll around, and get it all bunched up. I find it halfway across the room after they have been fooling around with it.
My dogs love mangey old tennis balls and pig ears. They aren't very choosey!

I gave my cat a golf ball to roll around the apartment, and much to my dismay he likes to knock it against the wall at night, when he wants something, because he knows it annoys me enough to get. AARRGGHH!!! LOL Darn cat. Why did I ever give him a golf ball? I must have been nuts!

Oh yea. my moose has this old fishing pole i called it. It is just a plastic pole with a plastic jingle ball and feather. He played with it so hard ,he kept pulling the ball and feather off.I would tye it back on then the next thing I knew,it was off again.I went out and bought several and replaced the old one while the ornery critter was sleeping.I still have a couple left for when this one wears out.

My kitten had a toy on an elastic string. The string was connected to a long platic pole(stick). The toy was just a wad of cloth that had been sewn together with feathers on it. We put the pole under the couch cushions. She would fight that thing for hours. She'd grab it and run and when the string hit it's max it would pull her back. She'd go tumbling and jump up on the couch and stare down at it. Finally one day we found the feathers in one place, the rest in another and the pole on the floor near the couch. To the trash the oy went. we tied a small fish toy to the string and thought that would do. She played with it that first day and I don't think she has since.

Poor baby! I can understand her plight.
We bought a really cute orange catnip filled mouse
with bell on it's tail (stuffed, of course!)
for the four cats.
But they still insist on play with strings and
tin-foil skitter ball.
They won't go near the orange mouse.
Cats are very picky about their toys.

Right now I've got 2 cats that think it's a hoot to steal and play with baby bottle nipples. The bounce fairly well when the cats play with them, kinda funny to see them walking around like the have a nook in their mouth! The youngest just started to play with the kids box of chalk, stealing it mainly.... but that' about if for amusements for them beyond yarn.

now thats funny. my little dog coconut has a cat toy for a favorite. its also a mouse with a little bell inside.
she chewed it open once and i actually had to sew it back together because she wouldnt quit looking for it and wouldnt play with any others. she has never chewed it open again. guess she missed it to bad. she carries it around like its her baby.

One of my dogs (a big dopey Dalmatian mix) has a favorite toy that he chews on all day, every day - it's my kitten! The cat seems to enjoy being his chew toy too. Go figure.
