Although flu season is about over, I've found that this tip also works when you've overdone it in the garden, on the baseball field, or at the gym.
For sore, achy muscles, mix 1 tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief.
I know it sounds gross and stinky, but it's actually very soothing, and much less expensive than over the counter rubs!

My mom sends me these emails too about home remedies. We found one that worked for us about mustard. I will be passing this on to my mom too. I do not like horseradish but I will try anything that will make me feel better. My husband has a bad back and I would love to try this on him. I was wondering does it really smell bad. I have a problem with bengay because to me it stinks terribly.

it's not too bad, but it does have a stronger smell. Kind of like hot mustard? I can't really describe it. It isn't as bad as bengay though.

I think we all do. The older I get, the worse they seem to get. Of course, if I could exercise more, I probably wouldn't be in such bad shape! lol

Thanks for this, we grow horseradish and this is much like a linement and worth a try. Also eating chicken which has creatine is valuable for after work out aches. The weight lifters use creatine from the bottle. Eating chicken is much better I think. Thanks for sharing this.

Wow this is a new one to me. I have never heard of this one. Cool I use alot of olive oil at our home for home bath and beauty aids and that is the only kind of oil that we cook with too. Thanks so much.
Congradulations. You have passed the 100 mark, you now have a star, the more active you are and the more people rank you, the higher the star gets till it is 10. When you reach 500, you can copy and paste. Woo Hoo for you.

Thanks Connie!
My mother in law sends me home remedies all the time. I did try not to pass too many on that I haven't tried yet! Kind of a tried and true test you know? Thanks for all your help here. I'm finally beginning to see some results.

It's kind of warm. Not a burning sensation like some, but just warm and soothing. The smell is not bad. I usually put it on about two hours before my bath and let it work the muscles in good, and then allow the warm water from shower to completely loosen up those tired sore muscles.
