My Violent Little Brother

Why would your brother even do such a thing unprovoked? Might the 2 boys know each other (perhaps classmates)? I would definitely break up the fight and try to sort things out.

if it's something that happens often I would start to get worried. If you and others are scooping him up when he does this, he's learned that he can control a situation by acting a certain way. Im curious, did he ask to go home? Did he get anything at the video game store that he wanted to play right away? It could have been his way of avoiding even asking "Can we go home now" and skipping five steps ahead. I had to deal with a demon seed this past summer that was five years old and knew how to take command of EVERY situation. Then again, he could have just wanted to play ... it's hard to say without knowing a little more about him and how he normally acts.

A 18 mth child knows nothing except to grab things he wanted. Perhaps the child is holding something he fancies, or the child is holding a toy which he has, and he thought the child has taken away his toy. I guess I would do the same - grab the child first before it turns out into a big fight between the parents as well. There is nothing more we can do except to apologise to the parents of the small child.

I think some child are doing it like your brother did.It's natural in their stage to have some fun on other kid.But we as parents and older siblings we must also help them and teach them the right way in dealing with other kids.

i would definately broke up the fight but i would have had to find out why he did it also.
