I live in a pretty decent sized college town, but it seems as if I cannot find a new job. I've worked as a manger for 3 years, but can't get picked up on any management jobs and I've done tons of administrative assistant work and cannot find a job like that either. It's hard to get a job in fast food where I live. Where do you live and how is the job market there?

Where I live the job market is not in good shape at all. I live in the metro Detroit area, and a lot of our economy is heavily impacted by the car industry. However, american car companies are not doing very well at the moment so people are getting laid off left and right. this has ripple affect into other industries, everything from housing, medical and even retail shopping. The whole state is feeling the hit. And even recently, we had a big 'Detroit' bank decide to move to Texas, which is another blow to the economy. I am very close to graduating with my masters, and very frightened that I will not be able to find a job that suits me. Unemployment is sort of high here and many people I know, especially my age, have moved out of state for jobs.

Wow. I used to live in Detroit, but we moved in 1981 because the economy was so bad there. My dad still lives there and works for GM. But, I think he deals more with the international plants and he should be retiring soon.

I live in China. I think the Job Market here is quite different from the other countries. You know it's the country with the largest population. So it's not easy to get a good job with a nice pay. So most of poeple move to big cities, where provide more job opportunities.

I live in San Diego and I haven't looked for a job for a couple of years, but when I was looking, there didn't seem very much opportunity for the type of work that I do. But, I know from other people that some jobs are very much in demand. If you can do any kind of accounting work, then there is a really good market for you here. Also, nursing and teaching are much in demand. Problem is that the pay never keeps up with the cost of living here, which can be much higher than most of the U.S.

I live the beautiful country of Philippines.Particularly in the Island of Bohol.I could say that to land a job of our chosen profession is not really hard to find here in our country because of lots of foreign investors here. The only problem that we encountered is that our salary is not well compensated.Hope the government will find ways to increase our daily wages.

I live in a small to mid size town in Canada. We have lots of jobs but they are all low paying and people seem to prefer being unemployed to working a low end job. We go through staff around here a lot and are a union job, but we can't seem to fill the spots with quality people. Everyone seems to think they are too good to do a manual job or flip burgers. I personally would rather flip a burger to begging on the streets. Would you like cheese on that?

We actually moved from where we were living because the economy there was doing really badly. Now we live in an area where employees are begging for people.
