Day 17: A Place to Belong

You are memebers of God;s own family, citizen's of God's country, and you belong in God's household with every other christian. Ephesian 2:19 God's Family is the Church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 1 Timothy 8:15b You are called to belong not just to believe. Why you need a church family 1. A church identifies us as a geniune believer - I cant claim to be following Christ if I am not committed to any specific group of disciples. 2. A family church moves us out of self-centered isolation - the local church is the classroom for learning how to get along in God's family. * God expects us to give our lives for each other. 3. A church family helps us develop a spiritual muscle. * we need more than the Bible in order to grow; we need other believers. We grow faster and stronger by learning other believers and being accountable to each other. 4. The body of Christ needs us- God has a unique role for us t play in His family. 5. We will share in God's mission in the world- * We are not just to model of God's love by loving each other. We are to carry it together to the rest of the world. 6. A church family will help us from backsiding Encourage one another daily...so that none of you may be hardened by sins decietfulness Hebrew 3:13 * Mind your own business is not a Christian's phrase; We are called in each others lives.
