Does anyone out there really like English peas?

I like peas just fine, it's that nasty cream sauce that you mention that I don't particularly care for. To me, it has the consistency of snot. Sorry to be gross, but that's what it reminds me of. I feel the same way about creamed onions. Yuck!

Oh Gods Yes! My grandmother used to make us creamed peas on toast, with canned peas! I hated it so much that even the smell of canned peas makes me gag to this day. For some reason it smells like dirty gym socks to me. My mom says I used to take my peas and squash them into the table under my plate, and she'd just give me another spoonful. Why can't some parents just leave well enough alone. I swear, peas are the reason I don't like veggies to this day. I never forced my kids to eat any more than a taste of any food, and they are the same way with their kids, and they eat anything! The favourite meal around our barbecues is baked potatoes, steak, medium rare, shrimp, lobster and broccoli and thats the kids' order, not the adults'.

Oh, I hate peas! I agree, I'd definitely take baby lima beans over those any time. When I was little, my mom used to make them, and she'd tell me I had to eat 5 of them, lol.
