Went out a few minutes ago to feed the birds. Not thinking about the weather. And saw the flurries falling.
Came back inside. The last thing I need is to slip and fall on the deck.
We shouldn't get much more than a dusting. But...

And so it begins again. Time to start feeding the birds for the winter. I have seen many blue jays and doves in the bird bath recently.
Time to get out the peanuts. I have ordered sunflower seeds as well.
If you feed the birds...

The seed feeder I had on a pole in the garden was not attracting too many visitors. Most birds do not like the feeder to move when they eat. I did not think of that ahead of time.
For now, I simply moved it to the bench in...

Finally got out in the garden and snapped a photo of my homemade seed feeder. It was really easy peasy to make. After finding one for $30. and passing on it, I am now glad I did. I can easily replace this pan in the kitchen.
I...

I need to get sunflower seeds...

This bird feeder was a gift awhile back. Fluffy the cat is holding the feeder, and on the top of the feeder it says, Free Bird Food. A friend of mine knows how much I love birds. I told her it was the perfect gift for me.
I hang...

Walking by my front window after dark in my living room I noticed my bird feeder was swing back and forth. I stepped out onto the porch to see why. There was no wind, and as I stood there staring in the dark I could see what I...

I picked up a new bird feeder for the sparrows and other birds that frequent my front yard (the squirrels destroyed the previous one). I grabbed a photo of this one a couple days ago.

My parents have quite the cafe going with their bird feeder. Many different types of birds have frequented it, and even squirrels and the regular rabbit stop by. Suffice to say it runs low on seed quite often.
On Saturday my...

I'd forgotten, after nearly thirty years away from my home (Ohio) how the crows congregate in December. Funny how they're not in my neighborhood, 3/4 mile away from the center of the city. Anyway, in the...

I was out shopping with my mother yesterday and I told her I needed to buy bird food.
She said "What? You don't need to feed the birds in the Summer. They can find their own food!"
I said "Well the birds don't know that....
