I was chiseling bricks Saturday and Sunday and now have a number of bruises, blisters, and sore muscles all over. A few times my hammer glanced off the chisel and hit my hand. There's a large bruise there after several strikes....

As my husband nears retirement, he intends to take up woodwork again. Can you advise me as to what I could buy him for Christmas that would form a good basic tool kit? I'm assuming chisels, saws etc but really dont know what...
