Depressant or stimulant?

In many descriptions of alcohol it is a depressant. My question is why is it a depressant when it makes people more dangerous causing harm to some like beating someone up? I'm not saying drunk just buzzed.

Do you think anti-depressants are dangerous, due to their addictive nature?

The majority of anti-depressants leave a person chemically dependant on the feeling they provide for the rest of their lives. Do you believe that greater care should be taken with dispensing these drugs?
