Best team and why?

So... I am always playing age of empires, and I just can't seem to find the perfec team to be... So I thought, well why don't i just consult the internet? So, from experience, what is the best team to be in age of empires 2?

What does the Soviets, British, Mongols, and the USA have in common, they all invaded Afghanistan. For the first three their empires came to an end shortly after. Why would the USA empire be any different? Do “our leaders” learn...
