One of the things that puzzled us all during our visit to Hampton Court Palace was the canopies (properly called a baldachin I think) over the King’s thrones. How are they held up?
There were several of these and one could be...

Last year, Little One’s class at school was doing a project on the Tudors (from King Henry VII to Queen Elizabeth I). In support of this, they organised a trip to Hampton Court Palace. Unfortunately there was a bug going round at...

I'm kicking myself that I've not been watching this MUCH sooner! The Tudors is now in its 4th (and, sadly) final series and I'm totally hooked.
It might have something to do with Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Henry VIII) or the guy who...

I've had a huge sampler of Henry VIII and his six wives that I've been working on for a long time. It's near completion and I'm really proud of it, however I've noticed that near Anne of Cleves, there is a small brown, dirty mark...

Anglicanism was created when Henry VIII wanted to divorce his wife and marry another but the pope wouldn't allow it. So Henry decided to start his own religion and break away from the pope. Afterward, if you didn't follow the...
