There was never a year earlier, that we did not have marigolds in our garden but this year we have none. It is all because of rains that have still not subsided. It is October and it is raining cats and dogs.
Rain is not...

We are busy concocting a wine rack for our storage room. I’ll talk more about it when it’s finished. But while we were at our hardware store, I bought some seedlings to put in some empty pots.
The neighbour had marigolds in...

I am thinking about placing some of my plants (mainly the basil) in soil. The containers heat a lot during the day. Fortunatly the soil will not accept baking. But still, the roots suffer.
I had to change the container with the...

I also bought a few marigolds at the nursery but some of them died. They did not revive after I transplanted.
But when I cleaned up for the barbecue I remembered that I had given a jar to one of my small friends last year so that...

Yesterday, in spite of my strong decision not to buy anything for me, I succumbed to some mums, a few marigolds and some basil seedlings.
The most urgent work is to separate the seedlings and transfer them to big containers. I...

Found these pretty marigolds at the park yesterday. Mine have all gone for the season.
Love the color here. They made me smile.

I am transplanting my marigold plants, friends. Finally they grew up to a size where they don´t die if transplanted.
Today I transplanted 3 in bigger size pots and could see that their roots were quite strong.
If the winter will...

I have had three marigold generations since Claudia and her children gave me marigolds in bloom for Christmas,
My first marigolds were in bloom and one by one they dried out and shed their seeds. And I got some and planted a...

My 4 big marigold plants have tiny buds already. And the small ones are out, already with their sets of leaves that say their name.
On a big pot, the daffodils that I bought last year (and did not flower) are coming out nicely. I...

Some time ago, when it was still summer, I planted some of the first dry marigold seeds from some plants that Claudia had given me for Christmas.
I suppose I did not water them as I should because only 4 plants grew and now one...

I have been watering my plants every day and I still don´t know if those seedlings I have if a small container are marigolds or weeds.
I do have 4 marigold plants that have grown a lot. And I have even discovered that they are...

A chilly sun is up and Luna is at the glass door waiting for me. But I won´t go out until my feet warm up.

I often grown marigold plants in my deck garden. The butterflies enjoy landing on these blooms. Funny because there is no nectar. But they seem to land and take a break, long enough for me to get photos.
While you can buy...

I do not have any bird feeders up at this time, but the finches keep visiting my marigolds in planters. I wonder if the marigold seeds are tasty to them.
It is fun to see an assortment of wildlife out my front window.

Hubby went out to do errands. I have planters that need to be filled. He, of course, told me he wanted to get some marigolds. Those are his all time favorites.
I asked him to get something else as well. Here is the selection I...
