WHY IS IT 75 degrees Fahrenheit on FEB 1st

Its Alabama February 1st 2016 and its 75 degrees out. Last year on this date it was 15 degrees Fahrenheit. I just need some stability in the weather lol. Tomorrow we are on the watch for Tornadoes IN FEBRUARY!!!!
