This song remains one of my all-time favorite songs by Ayumi Hamasaki, partly because of the meaning behind the song's words (MARIA There is a person I love/I feel so lonely sometimes/But my heart is filled up in the end/By the person I love) and partly because of the beautiful imagery in the promotional video, which takes place both inside and outside of a church and features Ayu as a solitary worshipper praying to "Maria," then later as an angelic figure who materializes out of light motes that are blown in through the church's open doors.
