The photo shows an area at my niece’s where I intend to plant some vegetable seedlings. Hopefully, at the end of our stay here I’ll be able to show you an ‘after’ photo.
There is shade-cloth over the area to keep the fierce...

Tomorrow we leave to house-sit for our niece who is going overseas with her husband and four sons. It’s about 30 minutes away in a northern suburb so it won’t be hard to come home if we need something. We’ll be back here next week...

Can you imagine living in this rustic hut? In my mind I can see myself and the hubby sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee just taking in the view.
I would love taking a walk among the trees spying on all the animals....

When I was about nine years old my mother remarried. We moved to Pocatello and during the summer I was often packed off to my grandparent's. I enjoyed the freedom there with the animals and plenty of land and places to discover....

I don't know why it has taken so long to get it done but it has finally happened. We bought new potting soil over the weekend to fill my planter boxes. Today I lugged the bags around to the back yard and filled the boxes and then...

It makes me happy to go out and look at my vegetable garden. Everything is sprouted and growing full speed ahead. The cucumber and squash bed looks good and promises to deliver me plenty of green, yellow, and butternut squash as...

After the past few 90+ F degree days, my vegetable garden was pretty dried out. Luckily my husband dragged out the hose and the "quik fit" attachment for it. It fit like a charm in his yard sprinkler that he ran for a couple of...

My afternoon plans were to take a nap after work but they changed when I got home. The sun was shining, the temperature was 73 degrees F, and I knew I had to take advantage of the nice weather to finish planting.
I put in pepper...

We are planting ours this weekend. We have two 10 x 10 raised beds plus several pots and a couple of other areas in the yard that we plant each year with vegetables and herbs. Last weekend we cleaned everything out and prepped...

It's almost time to plant my veggie garden. Every year we plant tomatoes, peas, onions, and green peppers. A most puzzling thing happened last year with my peppers.
They didn't produce the pepper. We have been growing green...

Well, do you? If so, what do you plant?
I plant one each year. I have two 10 x 10 raised beds that I plant. I'm a total amateur so some things do well and some things not so much. Every year I plant cucumbers, yellow squash,...

Two days ago I planted my spring vegetables. I haven't planted veges or herbs for very many years, as I had focused on my native garden.
I moved homes three months ago, and there was a little patch out the back suitable for veges...
